Trade Associations sit at the heart of their industry. They act as a representative body, putting forward the collective view and position of its members. But how do they work? And why is their work so integral to the industry they serve? In this session, delegates will learn about the role of a Trade Association and how ISLA, the leading association representing the common interests of securities financing market participants across Europe, Middle East, and Africa, works with its members to shape and define the industry.

The legislative landscape is continually evolving and at ISLA our advocacy remit continues to grow. In this session, we will explore how ISLA engages with key policymakers and regulators, to influence key legislative developments, address emerging challenges, and ensure that the interests of our members are effectively represented, in an increasingly complex regulatory environment.

As the influence of regulation on technology increases, so does the need for common understanding and agreed goals. This session will explore the role of ISLA and the work it does to aid the regulation and technology agenda. We will focus on the link between the two in the securities financing market, and how industry stakeholders are working together to navigate the evolving work through working groups and membership engagement.

Expanding networks and sharing knowledge is at the heart of ISLA’s work. Through industry leading events, strategic communications and topic-specific thought leadership, ISLA brings the industry together on the issues that matter the most. In this session, attendees will learn about the various channels and initiatives used to share key insights, foster collaboration, and keep market participants informed on the latest developments, trends and thought leadership.

This concluding session will provide a unique opportunity to hear directly from industry leaders and members of the ISLA Board of Directors, about the strategic direction of ISLA, the role of the ISLA Board, and how the Association is working to drive positive change across the sector.
