Description:
In the case where nominal amount is provided, the currency of the nominal amount shall be populated in this field.

Best Practice:
ESMA Guidelines Reporting under Articles 4 and 12 SFTR – 06 January 2020:

Regarding Field 2.46 (Quantity or Nominal Amount), a nominal amount should only be reported for bonds. The nominal amount should be reported in the original currency speci􀀁ed in Field 2.48 (Currency of nominal amount).

Other securities should be reported as a quantity, in which case Field 2.47 (Unit of Measure) has to be populated whereas Field 2.48 (Currency of nominal amount) is left empty. (SFTR-68)
