Vernon Alden-Smith specialises in collateral initiatives at ISDA. Currently he is assisting members in implementing regulatory change and developing and delivering collateral management transformation in driving standardization and efficiency.

Previously he worked within ETD operations and collateral management at West Duestche Landesbank, Portigon AG, Erste Financial Services and SS&C GlobeOp. Mr. Alden-Smith has both product and processing experience in both investment banking and client outsourcing environment for operations and delivering regulatory initiatives projects.

Lee Braine is a Managing Director in the Chief Technology Office at Barclays. He is the Distinguished Engineer for Advanced Technologies and his team drives Barclays technology engagement in distributed ledgers, digital currencies including central bank digital currencies, new post-trade standards, quantum computing and optical computing. He is a member of several industry committees including the Bank of England’s CBDC Technology Forum and ICMA’s FinTech Advisory Committee. He is the author of technology research papers and is a regular conference speaker. Lee’s background is in investment banking, clearing and settlement, stock exchanges, corporate banking, and payments. Lee has a First Class BSc and PhD in Computer Science from University College London.

Gabriel Callsen is a Senior Director, FinTech and Digitalisation, at the International Capital Market Association (ICMA). He is responsible for ICMA’s Common Domain Model (CDM) project for repo and bonds and ICMA’s Bond Data Taxonomy (BDT), two key initiatives to support automation and interoperability in the international debt capital markets. He is secretary to ICMA’s FinTech Advisory Committee and DLT Bonds Working Group. He also represents ICMA at various international forums, including the Eurosystem’s New Technologies for Wholesale settlement Contact Group (NTW-CG), ECB AMI-SeCo Securities Group (SEG) and the Bank of England/FCA Data Standards Committee (DSC). Gabriel has published various papers on FinTech, DLT, Big Data, AI, regulation and capital markets, and speaks regularly at industry conferences and educational events. Prior to joining ICMA Gabriel worked for the European Commission and Tradeweb.

Duncan Carpenter is a director of product management at Pirum and has led multiple product initiatives covering post-trade automation and regulatory reporting.

Duncan joined Pirum in March 2013 having worked previously in securities finance roles at eSeclending.

Duncan represents Pirum on a number of industry working groups and is considered a market expert on Securities Finance Transaction Reporting (SFTR).

Adrian joined ISLA in January 2019 as Head of Regulation & Markets group. In this role, he manages the associations work on regulation, technology, and market practices of the EMEA Securities Lending markets.

Adrian has over 30 years of experience in financial services including diverse roles in product development, business analysis, IT development, trading, and operations at BNP Paribas, Barclays and BNY Mellon. Prior to joining ISLA Adrian was head of product development for SFTR at IHS Market.

Andy joined ISLA in 2013 and took over as Chief Executive in mid-2016. As well as leading our advocacy efforts with policymakers and regulators, he is also responsible for defining the aims and objectives of the Association and ensuring that we meet the needs and requirements of our member firms across Europe, Middle East & Africa. He regularly participates in panel discussions at conferences and events, representing the interests of the industry and advocating the importance of securities lending to the efficient functioning of the broader capital markets.

Prior to joining ISLA, he held senior product and account management roles across the securities finance industry including Deutsche Bank, HSBC, Prudential M&G and IHS Markit (formerly Data Explorers).

Before joining the world of capital markets, Andy worked in commercial and corporate finance banking including aerospace finance.

Tim Fox is the Head of Demand Generation at Sharegain, where he manages all securities lending transactions and relationships with borrowers.

Prior to joining Sharegain, Tim had a decade of trading experience on the buy and sell side, first at Morgan Stanley, then BlueBay, Pinebridge, and most recently at Moore Capital. Before stepping into his ‘second career’ in capital markets, Tim served 20 years as an officer in the US Navy and retired as a Commander.

Jane is a senior technology leader with extensive experience in delivering transformative, data-focused technology in the Financial Services industry. As the Chief Operating Officer at the Fintech Open Source Foundation (FINOS), a part of The Linux Foundation, she oversees the Strategic initiatives and projects, Member & Community Success activities, and Corporate Operations. She works closely with the FINOS team and FINOS community to promote adoption and curation of business-relevant open source projects across Financial Services. Before joining FINOS, Jane was Managing Director at Credit Suisse, where she was the Global Head of Reference Data Technology Services. In this role, Jane successfully delivered several enterprise-wide transformation initiatives and re-shaped the global operating model of the technology organization. Prior to Credit Suisse, Jane worked in top-tier financial institutions, delivering technology solutions for Trading, Risk Management, and Operations business units. Jane earned her MS in Computer Science at Columbia University and a Bachelor of Arts at Barnard College.

Marc Gratacos is a Managing Partner at TradeHeader. TradeHeader is a global consulting firm focused on financial standards such as CDM, FpML, FIX, and ISO 20022. The firm also provides software development and training services. Prior to founding TradeHeader, Marc was a Technical Architect at the International Swaps and Derivatives Association, Inc. (ISDA). He helped to develop FpML (Financial products Markup Language) providing support, analysis, and technical expertise. Mr. Gratacos received his Masters Degree in information management and systems from the University of California, Berkeley and his BA in economics from the Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona.

Nicholas Hamilton is an Executive Director at JP Morgan in the Digital and Platform services organisation. He leads Global Operations strategy and data analytics for JP Morgan’s Prime Financial Services (Prime brokerage and clearing) business supporting post trade development and advocacy in infrastructure, architecture, data and AI. Areas of particular focus are in Data and market practice harmonisation & settlement optimisation.

Nicholas is Co-Chair of the ICMA European Repo and collateral Council Operations group, JPMorgan Director of SWIFT UK(National user group), Chair of the SWIFT UK securities advisory forum(SAF), Member of the Euroclear User group and represents the ICMA ERCC on the ECB Advisory group on Market infrastructure for Securities and Collateral (AMI Sec Co) and is a member of the ECB CSD steering group task force on T2S settlement efficiency.

Nicholas is a Chartered Fellow of the Institute for Securities and Investments (CISI). He regularly contributes to market publications, conference and round table discussions on Post Trade.

Justin is the Director of Databank Operations at FIA Tech, overseeing numerous reference data offerings and initiatives as a part of FIA Tech’s Databank Network designed to support firms across the industry including data sets on contract specifications, applicable position limits, exchange and clearing fees, and eligible collateral. Justin works closely with market participants, exchanges, and regulators to support and enhance the Databank Network products which have served as an industry utility in this space providing FCMs, hedge funds, and other firms crucial data feeds to support their daily trading operations. 

Tom Healey is a financial services consultant with over 20 years of experience as a senior executive and consultant to banks, fintech startups and private equity firms. Tom was the global head of repo trading system products at Bloomberg LP, served as Director of treasury platforms at Deutsche Bank and was a founding member of a NY based fintech incubator. He recently launched, FINXIS LLC, a research and consulting firm in New York.

Leo (Laurent-Olivier) Labeis is the Founder & Chief Executive Officer of REGnosys.

Leo graduated from Ecole Polytechnique in 2001 and holds two MSc. from Ponts & Chaussées and UPMC Paris VI with majors in Applied Mathematics and Electrical Engineering.

Mike Lambert is the Product Director for Securities Lending within the “Securities Finance & Collateral Management” business unit at Broadridge Financial Solutions and has been with Broadridge for 16 years. Mike is responsible for defining the Securities Lending strategy and product roadmap within SFCM.

Mike started his career in Investment Banking and has had time at Merrill Lynch, Deutsche Bank and Lehman Brothers. It was at Lehman Brothers that Mike made the transition from Operations to IT, on a milestone project to implement a Securities Lending system. Since then Mike has worked on numerous Securities Lending system upgrades and implementations.

Tam is the SmartDX Client Solutions manager with over eighteen years’ experience in the Banking and Financial Services industry. In his current role, he has responsibility for supporting SmartDX Sales globally as well as developing client solutions for go-to-market execution.

Scott O’Malia is Chief Executive Officer of the International Swaps and Derivatives Association, Inc. (ISDA), a position he has held since August 2014. At ISDA, Scott has led the Association’s drive to promote safe and efficient markets, and develop industry standards and legal documentation. This includes a push to develop common standards and processes to support new technologies aimed at improving post-trade efficiency through the adoption of innovative and scalable fintech and regtech solutions.

ISDA is a global derivatives association that represents all derivatives users on key industry issues, including trading, clearing, reporting, margin, capital and legal standards. During Scott’s tenure, ISDA has expanded its Board to include broader representation of derivatives users, making it the most diverse in the Association’s history. Scott has also brought greater focus on market infrastructure issues – in particular, the cross-border harmonization of global central counterparty regulation, trade execution and data rules.

Prior to joining ISDA, Scott was appointed by President Obama and was confirmed by the US Senate to serve as Commissioner of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). He served in this position from October 2009 until August 2014. During this time, Scott debated and cast votes on the CFTC rules related to Title VII of the Dodd-Frank Act. While at the CFTC, Scott revived the Technology Advisory Committee, and led an active agenda investigating data standardization, highlighting trade execution rules and developing a better understanding of how algorithmic trading operates in regulated markets.

Scott has also had a distinguished career spanning 15 years in the US Senate, including roles as Clerk to the US Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Energy and Water Development, Professional Staff on the US Senate Energy and National Resources Committee under Chairman Pete Domenici (R-N.M.), and nearly 10 years working for US Senator Mitch McConnell (R.-Ky.).

Matthew is COO and Head of Delivery at Trading Apps Ltd, which he joined in 2016. He oversees all aspects of delivery, incorporating client on-boarding, projects, QA and support. With the launch of Trading Apps’ SaaS products, his role now includes deployment management across the companies fast-growing hosted estate.

Prior to Trading Apps he served as Global Head of Securities Lending Technology for Nomura International. Other engagements include 13 years at Barclays in Prime Services IT and securities lending roles at both Daiwa Securities and Prime One Solutions (now part of S&P Global). Matthew has held many positions within securities finance and prime services technology, covering development management, application ownership and programme management, having started out as a developer on the stock loan desk at Daiwa. He holds a BSc in Computer Science from University College London.

Prior to her impactful role at Likezero, Imogen served as a Manager at PwC, where she spearheaded numerous software implementation projects addressing critical issues such as UMR, Brexit, and LIBOR cessation.

Chris joined ISLA in February 2022 as a Senior Associate – Market Infrastructure & Technology within the Regulation, Digital & Market Practice group.

In this role he is responsible for supporting the Association’s important work on development of securities lending products within the Common Domain Model (CDM). The CDM is a standard codified representation of transactions, events, agreements and processes, and is a key initiative to digitally transform the industry. Chris is also the chair of our CDM working group.

Prior to ISLA, Chris held a role as a Software Engineer Specialist at FIS, with a track record of over 25 years of successful delivery in the financial services industry.

David joined ISDA as Director of Product, Data & Digital in Q3 2023 focusing on the Common Domain Model (CDM). Working within internal teams, ISDA members and members of the open-source community at FINOS, David is responsible for looking at the strategic direction and roadmap for the CDM in coming years.

Prior to joining ISDA, David was Director of Digital Affairs at ISLA, a role encompassing securities lending extensions to the CDM, document digitisation efforts and thought leadership on the impact of digital assets on the securities lending industry. Over the course of 15 years in the industry, David has also held operational and technology change roles at State Street, Barclays and UBS.

Lionel Smith-Gordon is a Senior Consultant at REGnosys focusing on data modelling in the Common Domain Model (CDM) and Digital Regulatory Reporting (DRR) and is responsible for helping the industry trade associations, their members, and REGnosys’ clients adopt, use and extend the models.

He has over 35 years of experience in financial services technology and operations, starting as a developer at JPMorgan on their first international securities and derivatives application. He has taken on diverse roles in application development, programme delivery and organisational transformation with assignments in Germany, Japan, USA and Singapore across equities, derivatives, infrastructure, asset management and venture capital. In his previous role, he led a global team of developers in exchange listed derivatives and clearing, and now leads a fintech consultancy helping organisations grow and develop their product capabilities and client base.

Aman Thind is Executive Vice President and Global Chief Architect for State Street. In this role, he is responsible for defining the technology strategy and drive adoption of latest AI, Crypto, Cloud and Data
strategies to transform the firm into an innovation-led organization.

Aman is also the CTO of State Street Digital Assets which is a division dedicated to Crypto Assets and Web3.0 technologies and CTO of State Street Alpha which is a leading data management platform to help clients manage all their investment products and business lines in one place.

Prior to being appointed as chief architect, Aman was CTO of State Street GlobalLink where he led the development of multiple low-latency trading and analytics applications systemic to the financial industry. Before joining State Street, Aman was Co-Founder and CTO of BestX®, which is a fintech start-up focused on transaction cost analysis and ensuring financial institutions have the best interests of their clients in mind anytime they trade on their behalf. State Street acquired BestX in September 2018. Earlier, he held several key quant, technology, strategy and leadership roles in Morgan Stanley, Lehman Brothers, Fidelity and Adobe

Malwina works as a Senior Business Analyst in Product team at CloudMargin. She is responsible for identifying, analysing, and documenting business requirements, processes and workflows to enable improvements to existing features and the development of new functionality. She interacts daily with the development engineers in ensuring requirements are understood.

Prior to joining CloudMargin, Malwina spent 9 years working at RBS and NatWest Markets within the collateral operations and documentation space. Her primary focus was process automation and an oversight on collateral documents negotiations, including analysis for unsupportable terms and operational sign-offs.
